The Carp is very closely connected to the dragon. The old story of the carp leaping and crossing over the “Dragon Gate” to transform into a Dragon had become very popular. Carps are strong fishes that could resist the big currents in Yellow River and this represent determination and perseverance. They are able to swim upstream and rapidly leaping on the surface of water to reach heaven to symbolize success in your undertakings. Because the Carp made such a treacherous journey to reach its goal, it is seen as a symbol of determination and strength. Also, the Carp swims upstream by repeatedly jumping out of the water and towards the heavens – this is a representation of an attainment of ambitions and aspirations. The Carp is believed to bring many other benefits, including educational luck, enhancement of marriage quality, good fortune and luck in literary pursuits. With all these advantages, you will be able to overcome any obstacles in your way, as well as overthrow any competition.
