Impulse sealer parts consist primarily of a chrome alloy heating element (or wire) that melts the plastic, and a PTFE (Teflon) heat-resisting cloth that sits between the wire and the bag, preventing sticking and protecting the heating element from residue and damage. Other parts include the gasket, which should be checked and replaced if damaged to prevent short circuits, and the overall control panel and power components. These parts are often sold as replacement kits.
